Job description: Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of alarm systems, including CCTV, access control, and surveillance equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of alarm systems. The Alarm Technician will work in the field, utilizing both hand tools and power tools to build and service alarm systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain alarm systems, including intrusion detection and surveillance equipment.
- Conduct thorough inspections of existing systems to detect issues or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Utilize computer networking skills to integrate alarm systems with other security technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to alarm systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during installations and repairs.
- Provide training to clients on the proper use of their alarm systems. Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and repairs performed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in alarm system installation or field service work is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV technology and surveillance systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and system design principles.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to detect issues quickly. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork.
- Ability to work independently in various environments while adhering to safety protocols.
- A valid driver's license is required for travel to client locations.
- Be able to pass a background check with Department of Justice per Consumer Affairs requirements for alarm installers.
